Proof! Hummer drivers are a$$holes!

As if there was any doubt, but here's proof.

Quick hits for a Saturday

The more and more we learn about the "Stimulus" plan, the more we find out it's simply a "Thanks for your support" payback. Only 11% of the bill goes toward any actual plans to create jobs and stimulate the economy. What's more, much of that 11% won't take affect for years. What's even more, the money paid out to states will simply mean spending plans that will have no source of funding unless they get another "bailout" or . . . yep, raise taxes. It's insanity.

Obama wants transparency and accountability in business and government. Well, everyone except in Washington, I guess. Does anyone in Washington pay taxes? Or are they all that stupid?

On a similar note . . . I don't know about anyone else, but I could find my mortgage papers in under a minute. Unless I were in China. Then it would take me the time of the flight, the ride home, plus a minute to find them.

I find it funny Obama would call the billions of dollars paid out as bonuses to Wall Street Execs, "shameful". Yet, turns around and tries to call his massive spending and payback plan an economic stimulus.

I wondered how long it would be before Patti Blagojevich left her ex-governor husband. Turns out, she's no innocent either.

Lee Holloway figures the state is in so much debt, what's another few thousand dollars? The slumlord blamed Scott Walker for leaking information about the trip that supervisors Coggs and Clark took to Washington to the newspaper. The trip coincided with the inauguration. Hmm. The trip was also paid for by taxpayer dollars. The supervisors claim the trip was for legitimate purposes. Though, there's evidence that says otherwise. In a letter sent to Scott Walker by Lee Holloway he not only accuses Walker of leaking the information, but then signs the letter "Lee" and draws a smiley face on it.

Up the meds, Lee.

Superbowl prediction: Cardinals 24, Pittsburgh 21.

Nany Pelosi thinks spending money on contraceptives will help the economy. She also doesn't know natural gas is a fossil fuel. She also says that increasing taxes on the wealthy isn't a tax increase. She also believes in the botox fairy and carries around a Bush voodoo doll.

But, Palin is the idiot.

The only device we need is an anal dam to keep the government from f*ckin' us in the ass.

Speaking of idiots . . . Jessica Alba says she ain't one. She told a reporter at the inauguration to "be neutral about it . . . be Sweden." She rests her case.

And Paris Hilton says she's not stupid, she just plays an idiot on TV.

"I just do little jokes all the time but people think I'm serious, which I think is funny. And I think I kind of play up the image sometimes because, (eyes go blank) whatever, it's just entertainment."

This coming from a skank who thought Gordon Ramsey was the prime minister. She also rests her case.

Today's Babe

One of my all time favorites . . . perhaps the most perfect woman . . . Elizabeth Hurley. She just exudes hotness.

Stimulus? My butt!

This will be two posts in a row in which I reference my butt. Does that mean something? Whatever.

We're learning more and more that the "stimulus" package the Deamoncrats are putting forth is anything but. Last I heard, only about 12% of the package will go directly to anything growth related. The rest is, basically, pork. Liberal, lefty, special interests, and feel good do nothing spending. Wonderful. I dare any lefty to defend this "stimulus package". It's a lefty, socialist agenda spending spree. It's almost payback for support. Well, it IS payback for support but no one will ever admit that.

What's worse, there's an attitude by Obama and Pelosi that "we won. Nyah, nyah, nyah!" So much for eliminating "pettiness" and "reaching across the aisle", and "change".

What this means, especially for Wisconsin, though other states are in the same boat, is that Doyle will likely spend the money on programs that require on going funding. Which will be incredibly stupid, as, a year or so from now when we don't get another "stimulus" we'll have to cut back on funding. Of course, it really won't be a cut. Just not as big a rise in money as what's expected. But, it will be called a cut. At which point we know what will happen. Yep. Taxes.

We might break even this year. Maybe. But next year, you'd better lube your cracks 'cause Doyle's gonna go medieval on 'em.

Obama can kiss my . . . . !

Last night when I got home from work, it was late, so I spent some time with my daughter before tucking her in. When I was done I came out to the living room to spend time with da wife. I noticed Obama was on the cover of Entertainment Magazine, for some reason, and it was lying on the chair. I promptly sat down on it. My wife noticed and said: "You know you're sitting on my magazine." To which I replied:

"Obama's kissing my butt."

It's the little things.

From the annals

When my daughter was little, I used to sing to her when putting her to bed. It was the usual stuff. But, I'd sing little "ditties" that I'd make up. Usually a two line poem put to a melody. Well, as time went on, I started stringing together the "ditties" and eventually came up with a song. The next step was to make a music video out of it. I happened about this video while looking for something else, so I thought I'd share it. My daughter is around two in the video, and she's almost nine now. So, it's a little old. Still, I think it's cute. My song for my little girl, Jamie. Daddy's Little Girl:

Another girlie story

I had to work a 12 hour day yesterday. We have an annual show many of our clients participate in, and it's hell week. Lot's to do, little time to do it. Anyway, when I finally got home I was able to spend just a few minutes with my daughter before putting her to bed. She asked why I had to work so much. I told her, and that it only happens every once in a while. She was concerned for me and asked if they (work) provided dinner. I thought this was cute in that she was not only looking out for my well being but that my efforts should be rewarded, in the very least, with something to eat. Truth was, I had a late Taco Bell lunch and wasn't hungry until I got home. None the less, this didn't sit well with my daughter. She said she would make me a lunch to bring to work.

This morning I woke Jamie when I got up as she had a little homework yet to do. She got up and promptly grabbed her folder. I took my shower. As I got dressed, I noticed she was busy in the kitchen. I thought she was making herself some breakfast. Nope. She was making my lunch! Unfortunately, because our fridge has been on the fritz, we didn't have to offer. So, I got a cheese sandwich with chips and some pudding. Nice! She also wrote a note, but I can't read it until lunch so I can't tell you what it says.

Anything. Anything she wants.

Just admit it. You're a hypocrite!

I've been called a hypocrite. Right here on this blog! Problem for the accuser, though . . . I admitted it. It wasn't about anything that particularly important. Certainly nothing that gets to the core of one's character or beliefs. Still, I try not to be hypocritical. But, I think we all make exceptions.

Take the death penalty. Many a conservative are for capitol punishment. Even though they'll turn around and say they're pro life. That abortion is murder. Hypocritical? Yes! But, it's easy to defend. On the one hand you have someone who's only crime was to be conceived. The process of life has begun and someone is about to determine that otherwise. On the other hand you have someone who has decided for someone else that their life should end. Particularly in the case of premeditated murder, there is no greater sin, if you will, on another person.

I'm actually against the death penalty. In this case, I try to be consistent. I simply think it's wrong for a person to end the life of another. And, I'm not particularly religious.

Anyway. Long and, perhaps, goofy set up to the actual point.

Libs have a big problem with The Patriot Act and the many things associated with it. I've read on blogs and in comments the views of such libs that not only are many facets of The Patriot Act unconstitutional and illegal (something that's NEVER been proven), but that the tactics used by ProPat's (I just made that up) is nothing more than scare tactics and lies. That "for the safety of our country" is simply a cover to violate rights and laws.

Of course, they never say why. I mean, what does . . . did Bush gain from this? If it's true, what's the payoff? Plus, I'm confused. Is Bush the dumbest President ever . . . or the most clever?

Whatever. It's an issue that's hotly debated. Quite honestly, I can see the liberal's point with this. After all, there have been a number of rather scholarly and legal types that have offered up opinion. In this case, however, I choose to side with Bush. I understand the concerns of those on the left. But, I also think they're unfounded. And, we are talking about some pretty bad folks, after all. Folks who have taken a number of shots at us and our allies. Successfully, I might add.

So it is with . . . global warming. Only now, the roles are reversed. Most on the alarmist side of the issue are liberals, on the denier side, conservatives. We've been told that global warming is largely man's fault. And that if we don't do something about it soon . . . well . . . I'm not sure what's going to happen. No one seems to agree on that. But, it's bad. Very bad. Ice caps will melt, the oceans will rise and gobble up a bunch of cities, weather events will worsen, plague will spread, all kinds of plants and animals will become extinct . . . all because of a rise in temperature of a half a degree in the next 100 years. Or, was that 6 degrees. I guess it depends on which expert you read.

We're also told that there's a huge consensus of scientists on this. They're ALL in agreement. Well, only the ones who agree to be in agreement, anyway. Like the issues with the Patriot Act, there are those who think otherwise. Smartly types, too. In fact, there are hundreds of experts from various scientific disciplines that refute the notion of man made global warming. Some how, though, they don't count. "Look for the money trail, look for the money trail, look for the money trail . . . ". Like an irritating parrot that you just want to throw the towel over, you hear this.

More than that, you hear, "do you want to risk being wrong?"

Hmm. Where have I heard something like that before . . . ?

Liberal Politics and Idealism

A few things that caught my attention today.

Rep. Jack Murtha, D-Pa., says he'd be willing to house prisoners from Guantanamo Bay in his congressional district if President Obama makes good on a plan to close the U.S. prison there.

As one of his first acts in office, the president circulated a draft Wednesday that would shut down Guantanamo Bay within a year.

Murtha only has a minimum security prison in his district. But he says he'd have no reservations about holding detainees there in a maximum security prison.

"Sure, I'd take 'em," said Murtha, an outspoken critic of the Iraq war. "They're no more dangerous in my district than in Guantanamo."

Done deal, as far as I'm concerned. You folks voted for him. Now reap the benefits.

Beck had a good idea, though. Put the prisoners in Alcatraz . . . in Pelosi's district. Problem solved! Two ideal places to put the TERRORISTS.

The Senate Finance Committee voted 18 to 5 to approve Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary, despite a second day of tough comments by several Republican members. All five Senators voting "No" were Republicans.

I'd like for any lib to defend this choice. In any way what so ever. Could there be a more incompetent and untrustworthy person for this position. If this were turned around, that is, if these were republicans doing this, they'd be skewered. Roasted over an open pit. Eaten. And shit out on the President's shoes. Amazing.

In a stunning revelation, a source close to Gov. David Paterson insisted this afternoon that the governor "had no intention" of picking Caroline Kennedy for New York's vacant senate seat - because she was "mired" in an issue over taxes, her nanny and possibly her marriage.

My guess is that this is the last we'll hear about Caroline's "issues".

Pelosi said one of her favorite moments from Inauguration Day was when Marine One lifted off the Capitol grounds, signifying former President George W. Bush's exit from Washington. "It felt like a 10-pound anvil was lifted off my head," she said.

Seeing how ineffective she's been the past two years, I'm not surprised. I'm sure she's looking forward to her job being much easier with a rubber stamp awaiting her every whim.

Said by Larry King during an interview.

"My younger son Cannon, he is eight. And he now says that he would like to be black. I'm not kidding. He said there's a lot of advantages. Black is in. Is this a turning of the tide?"

This is ridiculous beyond imagination.

U.S. President Barack Obama may order a hold on a proposal issued in the final days of the Bush administration to expand offshore drilling in previously banned areas, an Interior Department official told Reuters on Wednesday.

Nothing has happened, yet. But, does this surprise anyone? We, on the right, knew he was flat out lying when he said he'd consider it.

It's going to be a loooooong four years.

Did ya see me on the news?

We took part in one of the MLK celebrations as my niece was performing at one of them. She plays in a calypso band on the kettle drums. It's pretty cool. Especially since it's the only one of its kind in the city. Anyway, she's in the first clip . . . as am I. You should be able to pick me out of the crowd:

12 also covered the event. It doesn't have my niece in the shot, but I'm there again:

As an aside, all the performances were really good. Especially the African Dancers. Of course, my niece was really good.
But, enough about them. Don't I look great?

While I'm pissing off my friends . . .

There's some hubbub going on about the mess that was left behind from the inauguration. There's an insinuation that liberals are bigger pigs than are conservatives, and that there's a hypocrisy with the whole "green" movement that should have made people more aware of themselves and the environment. Well, I have to say . . .

Get over it.

Sheesh. Not only are you raining on Obama's parade, is this really THAT important as to harp on about it? I know no one was taking a shot at Barack, necessarily. But, to diminish the debate of conservatism and liberalism to the amount of LITTER a person makes is rather petty. Please, please, pleeeeeeease, don't be that person. The mess will get cleaned up.

This is not the hill you want to die on.

You want a mess to complain about, talk to my wife about our closet.

Writing letters

Dear People Who Write Letters To People Who Have No Chance of Reading Your Blog,

Just blog and post your editorial, opinion, or whatever you want to call it. The letter thing is kind of goofy.
Letters are for pen and paper, envelope and stamp.

(Wait . . . )

(Didn't I just . . . ?)

(Crap!)

Dom Capers

So, he's the new guy that going to bring about cha . . . OK, I hate that word now. Hop . . . no. Something new! Or, something better than it was before! Let's go with that.

There's already bellyaching about him. All of it has to do with the fact that he much prefers, and will likely run, a 3-4 defense as opposed to the 4-3 defense the Packers are running now. Much of the bellyaching has to do with the fact that we don't have the personnel for a 3-4 defense, that the scheme isn't a good fit for our players, and that it's simply another thing that will be "new" for next season. All legitimate complaints, I suppose. I think we're missing something, though . . .

THE PACKER'S DEFENSE SUCKS!

(ahem)

Get my point? Have I made myself clear? We can't get much worse.

Next season we'll get Jenkins, Barnett, and Bigby back healthy. We'd still need someone in the middle. And, in spite of what I said earlier . . . not knowing at the time about Capers coming in . . . maybe we could use Peppers. If we have Barnett, Chillar, Popinga, and Hawk as our backers, I'm not feeling so bad. Maybe Kampman is a little under sized. Start getting him beefed up. Look for a middle guy and sign Peppers.

Face it, the old scheme wasn't working. A cha . . . new dir . . . fresh approach might be just what we need.

OabamaMania

Well, call me racist, I didn't watch the Inaugural. But, I've never watched any of them. It's a ceremony. A big whoop dee doo for the new President. I certainly understand the significance of the day. But, to watch hour after hour of ceremony . . . the opening to the Olympics is more interesting. Now, different if you're there. Anyway, a few thoughts.

Let's be honest, the poem was awful.

Mr. "Unity", Mr "Come Together", Mr "Close the divide" couldn't get himself to thank President Bush?

I've stated before that I'll be fair about Obama, but won't pull any punches. The whole singing Hey Hey, Goodbye was just a classless act, it sickens me. But, come as no surprise coming from liberals.

Obama took some shots at Bush in his speech. Nice. Between the no Thank You and his barbs, it speaks volumes about him. I don't mind an egotist in a position of power. Maybe one needs a little of that. I sure hope Mr Perfect doesn't make any mistakes.

What will be interesting to me . . . let's say Obama doesn't close Gitmo, and cites various reasons. Will this piss off the left? Or, will they suddenly become enlightened and agree with Neo? How many other cases of that will there be? I'll be watching.

The press is shameless to a point of being embarrassing and disgusting. I watched about 10 minutes of Sawyer and Co. last night. My dinner started to come back up.

My daughter, in 3rd grade, spent the whole day watching the inauguration in school. Funny how MPS gets all concerned about a few snow days but is able to waste an entire day watching TV. She said she was bored.

Quick hits

Haven't blogged for a bit. Not intentionally, or anything. Just haven't had much time or much to say.

I shouldn't tweet late, late at night after I've taken an ambien. I'm certain I've tweeted some really stupid stuff. Sorry.

I was going to post about the Golden Globe fashions, but life events got in the way. I'll say this . . . Salma Hayek . . . zow! Rene Zellweger . . . WTF? Beyonce . . . wear a dress that fits. Maggie Gyllenhaal . . . ugly. So, was her dress. Kate Winslet . . . eat a burger and get over yourself. Kate Beckensale . . . I hate that ruffly stuff around the neckline. Eva Mendes . . . your dress has a tumor, cut it off! Jen Lopez . . . who cares? Maxim's hottest woman in the world Megan Fox . . . skank. Laura Linney . . . always beautiful. Jennifer Morrison . . . beautiful. Though, the thing about many strapless dresses is that they don't offer up much in the way of cleavage. Anne Hathaway looked beautiful, but her dress needed straps. Drew Barrymore . . . I don't know. I kinda liked her look. Elizabeth Banks looked gorgeous. I could go on . . .

Shortly after reading about Milwaukee's anti-idling ordinance, I read that they won't enforce it in the cold weather. And will even dismiss a few citations that were written. A smart decision for once!

If you want to see a really interesting reality show, watch Solitary 3.0 on Fox Reality. 9 people subject themselves to a small isolation chamber and undergo various tasks and challenges. They're physically, mentally, and emotionally put to the test. It's rather interesting.

Packers still haven't found a defensive coordinator. Dom Capers is the latest name, but no decision yet. Seems as though they're looking for a quality name. That's good. Also, Julius Peppers becomes available at the end of February. Should the Packers go after him? Personally, I think the Packers need someone in the middle. A Gilbert Brown type. They'll get Jenkins back next season. For me, he and Kampman fill the ends up nicely. I really don't think the NEED Peppers.

As for the playoffs, I'm hoping the Cardinals and the Ravens win. Should the Card's win the Superbowl, Warner would become one of very few QB's to win a Superbowl with a different team.

Everyone has talked about it, so I really don't have much to add. Simply add me to the list of those who think Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger III is a true hero. Just an amazing feat. Miraculous that no one died.

Madoff claims another celebrity. Kevin Bacon says he "lost his shirt" to Madoff and needs to find work. I'm still not sure why this guy isn't in jail.

Ann Coulter has been out making friends. She's a riot.

All for now.

"This house is ca-leeen."

No, not my house. As much as I can brag about many other things . . . . many other things . . . a clean house ain't one of them. No, this is about a different kind of clean.

A friend of mine told me about a mutual friend. That he had had an episode of arrhythmia and went to the hospital. He came out with a pace maker. Not so bad. Just has to stay away from blasting sites, and every time his wife uses the garage door opener, he passes out.

Actually, the bypass he had years ago, has started blocking up again.

This is the luck of the draw, folks. I have no idea how long this friend will live. Maybe years. But, he's a walking time bomb and there's nothing he can do about it.

We live in an amazing world and an amazing country. While there's much to be critical about regarding healthcare costs, we have, bar none, the best system of care in the world. I've had a heart valve repaired that most thought would last about 10-20 years. It's forty years later. Medications to help my heart pump and I may never need a replacement valve.

I've had blot clots in my lungs. Two days in the hospital and injecting myself in the stomach with heparin and I'm fine. That's just me. There are countless stories of people who have benefitted from todays advancements in medicine. Read Rick's thanksgiving story about his heart attack.

But, in spite of all this. The people, the medicine, the equipment, and the procedures, nothing comes anywhere near close to good health than . . . choosing your parents. Heart disease exists in my friends family. We live with this notion that we can control things. If we just . . . fill in the blank. I eat butter, eggs, bacon . . . not a lot. But, I never go out of my way to avoid them. My cholesterol numbers are to die for. Other people look at an egg and have a heart attack.

We have no control over these things, folks. The absolute best we can do is detect early. Which brings me to today. I had my colonoscopy today. Happily. At 51, I want to know. Fortunately, there's little history in my family. As such, this boy is clean. Nothing. No polyps at all. I'm good for ten years.

It's a small thing, yet a big one just the same. Of the many things I have no real control of in my life, this is one I don't have to worry about for a while now.

Roxette

Another one for dorky video? I like the song, though.

Lita Ford Rocks

How about some ladies?

How 'bout a little Travis Tritt?

Another favorite . . . and good for chores

Great live version.

ANother good one for chores

You can tell these guys were studio musicians. They don't quite have the big hair act quite down.

One of the best songs . . . ever.

Good right before starting chores. Oh yeaaaaaah!

The Golden Globe Awards

Alright, the PCA's were kind of easy. The foreign press make up the Golden Globes and who knows what going through their heads. Plus, a few categories where even I said . . . "What?" So, a lot guessing might take place. More prestigious than the PCA's so I would thing everyone will attend pretty decked out. Well see.

Works like the last one. Make your picks and submit. There will be a prize. Not sure what yet.

Good luck!

The People's Choice Awards

Well, one word, boring. Queen Latifah sucked. The "open" sucked and I kept think about how Robin Tunney must have ben told this was summer and she'd been invited to afternoon tea.

The secret to the PCA's is that who ever is these will win. Maybe it's a budgetary thing. First, there's only three choices in each category. Second, generally the only people who show up are the winners. That's either budgetary, or the losers figure "what's the point?"

I could nit pick, but the only real issue I have with any of the winners is Kate Hudson. Does any really care about her anymore . . . or ever?

That, and Robin's afternoon tea dress could have used some mechanics to help lift and reduce the gaping gap I kept gaping at. But, that's me.

Nice that House, and Heroes won. It's a joke that Dark Knight took what it did and Iron Man and Downey got NOTHING. What an interesting guy that Bale is. If nothing else, let Downey win as he's got more than a worm's personality.

Well, the Golden Globes are next and while considered more prestidious than the PCA's, they make even less sense with their picks.

("Trust me, Robin, wear the black dress.")

Ugh.

She's free. I've still got a chance.

She and who ever it was she was about to make a big mistake and get married to, broke it off over the holidays. Could be my plan is working. I sit in my room and channel all the mind melding energy I can sending it in her general direction. She must have picked up on some of that energy which explains her sudden decision. Ha. On to step two.

I don't have a step two. I need a step two!

Woody Johnson's Song

You know, the whole Brett Favre drama . . . it reminds me of . . . well, inspires a song.

Woody Johnson's Song
(Sung to the tune of King Herod's Song from Jesus Christ Superstar)

Brett Favre I am over joyed to meet you face to face.
You've been getting quite a name all around the place.
Throwing touchdowns
breaking records easily
and now I understand you've come
to replace chad pennington

Oh, so you are Brett Favre.
you're the legend Brett Favre.
Prove to me that you can throw
take us to the superbowl.

If you do that for me
I'll pay you handsome-ly.
Come on king of QB's.

What is it that you have done that brings you to New York?
Did you take too many hits or are you just a dork?
Oooo, what a pity if it's all a lie.
Unlike in Green Bay in New Nork we will taunt you till you die!

Oh, so you are Brett Favre.
You're the legend Brett Favre.
Tell me your career ain't dead
you can throw a touchdown on your head!

If you do that for me
I'll pay you handsome-ly.
Come on, King of QB's.

Hey! Aren't you scared of me Favre?
Mr. Retirement Favre?
You're a joke, you're getting old
and you can't play in the cold!

Let's just all say good bye.
Don't you dare start to cry.
Get out you king of the . . .
get out, mr hall of fame . . .
Get out you king of QB's!

The People's Choice Awards

It's that time of year . . . awards season! If you know anything about me at all, you know I'm an awards show junkie. I watch mostly for the babes, and the ridiculousness of it all, but I do watch.

We start things off with The People's Choice Awards Now, none of the award shows make any sense. The PC awards are supposedly voted for by the fans. I HIGHLY doubt that. First, why are there only three choices in most categories? Second, Whoopi in a comedy category? What has she done that's been funny?

Anyway, if you think you've got your finger on the pulse of the industry, take my quiz and put your picks where your mouth is. Just follow this link:

Jimi the Geek's People's Choice Awards Quiz

Pick who you think will win in each category and submit. Please fill in your name and email so I know who you are and can confirm your picks. Afterwards, I'll post the winner. No entry fee, but also, no prizes. Just bragging rights.

So, take the quiz! The show is this Wednesday so you must have your picks in before the show starts.

Have fun. Good luck!

World's Best Daughter

Today was one of those days . . . busy from the start. The wife took off early with her sister to see Benjamin Buttons. Three hour movie! AFter which they did lunch and whatever else. I'm often not sure.

Anyway, I didn't plan on too much football watching today as I knew it would be my girlie and me. I still managed a number of things. I made lunch for us. Cleaned the kitchen. Folded and put away wash. Watched very little of the Raven/Dolphin game. Went with Jamie to the sister in law to play on their Wii for a couple of hours. Came home and played Zooreka with Jamie while watching the Viqueen/Eagles game. Fixed dinner. Then watched a little TV with Jamie (Wizards of Waverly Place) before bed. A full day.

Right before dinner, I get this envelope with a card in it:

Thank you for being a great daddy. Playing with me. Playing on the Wii with me!! and reading to me. But, the most thank you's I want to give you for this is a lot . . .
just being my daddy!

How many times have I said she can get anything she wants?

Robert Preston

Most will likely associate Robert Preston with The Music Man. I only saw the movie once, and that was some time ago. My association of Preston is with The Last Star FIghter where he plays an alien fighter recruiter. Actually, a pretty good movie.

But, how many of you know/remember Preston for this?

Hard not to recognize that distinctive voice. Brings back memories.

Dorkiest Music Videos

Here's an entry:

I kinda like the song. But, the video? Whoa.

Banana Bed

Wouldn't this be cool?

This is just a photoshopped image. Someone should make this, though.
