I can't imagine the grief that families are going through in China. Not only is the loss of life great, but the manner in which it occurred seems to make it more tragic. The fact is, many, including children, were buried alive and didn't die right away . . . or haven't yet and will. The chances for many of them to be rescued in time is probably small. That is simply horrific. Then, to have no option but sit back, listen to the screams, and not be able to do anything about it should be something no one should have to suffer through.
My heart goes out to all those who lost a child in China.
To make matters worse, China has a one child policy. This leaves many parents with nothing. While a second child doesn't make up for the loss of another, it's at least something to cling to during tragedy and loss. Many have been left with nothing.
Be sure to hug those you love today.
